Bipolar In Stereo (Extended Album) hits worldwide digitally this JULY 20TH! You will be able to get the full length 13 track re-mastered extended album anywhere online music is sold.... 7.20.2010!

From the Nashville Scene "10 Artists To Watch In 2010" on the original Bipolar In Stereo 7 track EP released this past February:

"The group of tunes that found its way onto Ya Za's debut album Bipolar in Stereo EP— despite what the title might imply — is a cohesive exploration of love and life in the 21st century, a digital age diary where swirling synths and booming drums are as much a part of the vocabulary as nouns and verbs" -Nashville Scene

Ya Za is storming up a buzz this summer while successfully coining a whole new batch of enthused followers. Named accurately earlier this year by Nashville Scene as one of the top 10 artists to watch in 2010, Ya Za has been gigging steadily (when not in the studio engineering, arranging, producing, and being a full time Mom) showing captive audiences her skillfullness as a prolific and truely multi-talented individual.

Following her February 2010 debut "Bipolar in Stereo" EP, Ya Za will be releasing a full length re-mastered and re-mixed version with 4 whole new unheard tracks this July.... and we just can't wait!

The Quick & Easy Boys played Nashville at the Basement on a Sunday night, to a full house leaving nothing but the need for more and and a thick air of appreciation after their performance this past weekend. It was off to Austin after that, and up through the west coast before they land back in Oregon July 3rd. July 4th, the boys will be playing a special Independence Day show at Double Mountain Brewery in Hood River, Oregon. Damn, that's going to be one hell of a celebration!

PORTLAND, OREGON-BASED FUNK, PSYCHEDELIC ROCK, GARAGE-SOUL OUTFIT THE QUICK & EASY BOYS CELEBRATE RELEASE OF SOPHOMORE FULL-LENGTH, “RED LIGHT RABBIT”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JUNE 2010
Portland, Oregon-based funk, psychedelic rock, garage-soul outfit, The Quick & Easy Boys are celebrating the release of “Red Light Rabbit,” their sophomore full-length, by hitting the road on tour in support of the album. Comprised of Jimmy Russell on guitar, Sean Badders on bass, and Michael Goetz on drums, the trio’s sound has evolved on “Red Light Rabbit” from a good-time, energetic funk punk band to an amalgamation of funk, psychedelic rock, and garage-soul with a slight pinch of honky-tonk.
Watch the video for “Take Your Medicine,” the first single off of “Red Light Rabbit” at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFjSZ5lhDEo

Bend, Oregon-based The Source Weekly’s music editor Mike Bookey wrote about The Quick and Easy Boys that, “They’ve become, in a way, the ideal band – a three-piece rooted in rock and roll that wears its funk and honky-tonk influences on its sleeve. Maybe this is what the Hold Steady would sound like if they came up in Oregon and not New York City.”

It’s true, the trio is a rare breed. Imagine a band equally influenced by the Minutemen, Funkadelic, and Willie Nelson, able to make you sing along, laugh, and just have a good time. The ultimate thinking man’s party band. Portland’s alternative weekly, the Willamette Week, also wrote, “Self-describing your band as a hybrid of the Minutemen, Funkadelic, and Willie Nelson is a hell of a burden to place on yourself, but the three mustachioed dudes in the Quick & Easy Boys – in a festival full of musicians and audience members sporting ironic facial hair, were probably the only trio to rock their ‘staches genuinely – brought a serious ruckus to the 2pm outdoor stage, tearing through a set of vaguely countrified funk-punk anchored by the hyper-trebly, nimble-fingered fretwork of guitarist Jimmy Russell… there probably isn’t another band in Portland that sounds like this.”

Formed in 2005, The Quick & Easy Boys quickly made a name for themselves in Eugene, Oregon before heading north and building a Portland, Oregon fanbase. Their shows are an interactive party with electrifying stage antics and profound musical moments as the trio pours out every ounce of their energy, leaving nothing behind. The band has gained the reputation for moving a crowd all-night long whether it be a big festival or a tiny watering hole.

In 2008, they released their debut, “Bad Decisions With Good People,” which left people raving about their unique and vibrant sound, and in September of 2009, they sojourned out on their first United States tour. Two national tours are now planned for 2010 in support of their new release, “Red Light Rabbit.”

Nashville Scene has the Critics scoop on the show this Sunday night at the Basement!  Copies of the new album "Red Light Rabbit" will be available at the show! But if you can't wait the physical album is available through Borders, F.Y.E., NAIL, and digitally online.

The Quick & Easy Boys have rocked Indianapolis, NYC, Chicago, Richmond, Baltimore tonight, West Virginia tomorrow & Saturday, then Nashville this Sunday (Father's Day June 20th)!!! The tour continues on to Austin, TX after Nashville, so come out to The Basement and see the boys off to the Longhorn State in proper Music City style (and with a few extra gas dollars).

Bringing the Party Back

Picture
Like many of Portland’s best bands, The Quick and Easy Boys have roots in Eugene. After making their name as a good-time funk rock party band here, they made their way north to the big city and have continued their ascension, drawing crowds of more than 200 people to their shows in the Rose City. Now The Quick and Easy Boys are releasing their sophomore album, Red Light Rabbit, nationwide on Nashville-based PerCapita Records, and they’re stopping by Eugene to celebrate.

The Quick and Easy Boys have a sound that is truly eclectic, with funk, rock, disco, honky-tonk and punk mixing in equal portions. The band aptly describes themselves as a hybrid of the Minutemen, Funkadelic and Willie Nelson. On “Take Your Medicine,” (video posted below) the first single from Red Light Rabbit, The Quick and Easy Boys start with a Bee Gees-esque ”four-on-the-floor” disco shuffle, add some Red Hot Chili Peppers style garage-funk and finish it with hooky blue-eyed soul vocals. What ties it all together is a sense of fun and energy that comes through in the recording and is a big part of the band’s growing reputation as a live act.

Like all great live bands, The Quick and Easy Boys leave it all on stage, creating a party atmosphere wherever they play. Any live show that includes formidable moustaches, ten-gallon hats and a red cape makes for a good night out. The Quick and Easy Boys and Reeble Jar play at 9:30 pm Saturday, May 15, at John Henry’s. 21+. $5. — William Kennedy EUGENE WEEKLY
